How do I get to FAQ.?

I looked at the link in this thread. It said press options 6 7 7. My options only go to 6. I pressed 6 okay, but when I pressed 7 nothing happened.

when you get finished you can come back here
or if you have any questions. i think it says to park the dish at G1
since we don't have it tuned in you might just want to park it all the way west.

FAQ

scroll down it say master reset for 922 i think it works for 920
but write all the lnb infor from 6-4-2 and if you want to make note of the limits

Okay thanks for the info. I found the FAQ. My options won't let me have 7 though. I'm going to search further about master reset. I'll try that then let you all know what happens. I'm done for tonight,

Thank you for all your help-
Lizzie

1)You have to get your system's vitals so you know what to put back in after the MR.
Things you will need to know before doing the MR:
Make a checklist [ get 1 here] with the information you will need to put back into the unit, including:
a) Timers: Make note of all timers first. They will be erased during the MR.
b) The dish limits. You will need to know the numbers for your dish limits. Here's how to find them:
1.b.1)Press OPTIONS then 6 4 3.
1.b.2)You should be on the Dish Limits screen. Make note of the East and West Limit Values.
c) Make note of the LNB and arm settings (eg. Rotated 90Deg, Linear/East, etc.)
d) Make note of the Satellites you have programmed in.
Here is how:
1.d.1)Press OPTIONS 6 4 4
1.d.2)Make a table with columns listing:
|Sat| position| H| V|
a) Each checked satellite
b) the dish position of each sat
c) the skew for H and V for each sat
(to get this data,
c.1.b) move the yellow box to a checked satellite and press ENTER,
c.1.c) read the screen: the top line says "Move Dish To" and a number. That number is your dish position , write it in the table.
c.1.d) The third line shows H and V and some numbers. These are the skew values. Write them in the table.
c.1.e) To get out of the screen, use GO BACK and choose DON'T SAVE. )

2) Move your Dish to 5000. This ensures that the exact same spot will be assigned to the number 5000.
3) Press OPTIONS then 6 7 7 8. You will then be on a hidden screen. Arrow Down to Factory Reset.
4) when Factory Reset is highlighted, press ENTER, the unit will go to WM UP.
5) After Warm Up, you need to enter the LNB and arm settings, then set the Dish Limits and program in the G9 icon at the G0 Position. Refer to the Table you made for the correct values for G0. The reason we are now using G9 is because G0 was blasted from memory during the reset
6) Once you Program in G9, go to channel 9. Verify there is a DC Lock.
7) You will notice that the channel count and satellite tables look funny. Leave it on Channel 9 until you see G9 turn into G0.
8) The maps will continue to load, before programming in the rest of the satellites, wait for complete maps (about 20 minutes, off or on)
9) Tune to ch. 300. The front panel should now display G0 instead of G9. You will need a Provider ID transmitted to you. Call your Provider and ask them for a Rehit. Channel 300 should appear.
10) Program in the rest of the satellites.
11) Press Guide and load the IPG

Okay I was able to get to master reset by pressing 6 7 7 8, but I'm not going to start until tomorrow (Monday) evening. I'll let you know how it goes. George I am grateful to you for all your time.
Lizzie

Yes check back before doing the reset incase someone has suggest something else to try first.

no problem ... its what i get for being a night owl lol lol :D

Just starting to copy stats down so I can begin Master Reset. I'm just logged in here to read instructions. I'll let you all know in a little while what happens.

Okay need help please. I did everything down through the warm up. Then am I suppose to turn the power back on to start?

I turned the power back on and my Change Dish Settings are still the same. Linear/ East, C-Band and Ku-Band LNBs, and Standard Feedhorn Polarization. Nothing changed there. My dish limits I had to reset which I did.

When I turned the unit back on it looked like it did when I first started this whole ordeal a week or so ago. The unit had been unplugged for a long time. When I replugged I only had the number 1 showing on the screen. I had to reset limits then remember. Now when I started the reset I turned it on and I have a number 1, and dish limits are at 5000. I set them to old limits now.

yeah doesn't sound promising .... but we can walk it through like the other night and try to find a channel.

you did check your feedhorn settings ( i didn't ask what they were )

Hi George,
Feedhorn Polarization is and was at standard. I think I'm giving up on this unit. I guess if I buy a new 922 it will be preset so I'll only have to download from G1. Is that correct?
Lizzie

was it set to
c band
ku band
c & ku lnb (most likely it was set to this) ( this ine is for like a corotor)
c & ku lnbf ( this setting is for like a BSC621)

basically they come presetup nothing that the guys here can't walk you through ( or with the info you have written down)

but lets try tuning in a channel , it won't hurt to try .... hopefully we can find one :)

yes thats correct chefwan, you have to set the limits and find the satellites
then would have to get the maps & guide....

lizzie
if you haven't moved it yet are the signal levels that same as the other night ??
on this satellite haw about channel 2 or 5 does the dc light come on when your on those channels

yes sorry if that sounded misleading preset wiith most all the software .
the satellite installer used to set up the limits & satellites... but this is what someone here can walk you through or its actually nothing more than you've already done....
