I can not find a place to order a new battery for my 2 accutrac 22 pro meters. I went to Perfect 10s website but i am not a retailer just a independant installer so it is pretty much busted there. i did a google search with no luck. I need 2 8.4 volt NI-MH 600 mAh battieries. Any ideas?

OMG, dude. There's no good or easy answer to that.

I ended up soldering several batteries together. And even then it was a joke. The cost of the parts alone is about $50. Not to mention the time soldering those bastards together. BLECH!

Truth be told, you're better off just buying a new one. If you scout around and are patient, you can score a brand new one for around $100 on flea-bay

EDIT: You only have two batteries in yours? I can't remember the exact count, but I believe it was at least 6. They were the same size as AAA batteries.

no there is 1 battery pack in the meters but I have 2 accutrac meters. the battery pack consists of 7 1.2 volt AAA size batteries. I was thinking of making my own with rechargable AAA battieries. I hate to toss these meters out, they costed 109.00 each and are only a year old.

Ok, that's right. 7 was the number.

As I stated earlier, I wasn't able to find a vendor who sold the battery packs. I ended up going "creative engineering" on the damn thing. Made a run to the local Radio Shack for parts. For much the same reason you are stating. $100+ is PITA to go thru every year or so

I got those same rated battery at fry's electronics for the price of $15.99, its 10 in a package. I used speaker wire and soldered together, used twice then all in a sudden, always get over load once make connect to income cable to the meter input. This meter sure looks a piece of junk to me.

It is a huge piece of Junk.

Perfect 10 refuses to do warranty work and gold sponsors on this site know this full well, keep on selling it. That told me a bunch about them.

The best of advice is to get rid of the POS.

Other than having dead batteries I have had no problems with my accutrac 22's. I even dropped one in bucket of water after it slid off a metal roof and it was on at the time. just dried it out and put it back to work. I do have a Eagle Aspen SSM 22 which is a nice piece of equipment but it is not very accurate.

Hey I liked mine when I had it, it got stole over two years ago. Its not as good as a birdog, but does the job if you know what you are doing.

The second connection shorted out and will passes a signal only when you pry it at an angle - so you don't know if its the meter or the satellite when aiming.

It constantly goes to overload with a simple dish lnb.

and again, THEY DON'T HONOR ANY WARRANTY - that should scream something to you.

And its not like I have used this anywhere but my roof maybe 10 times.

I have to agree with you. The battery issue is the only thing I've had problems with. And the fact it can aim at two birds at the same time (IMO) greatly outweighs that 14 - 20 month lifespan of the battery pack.

I got 4 days at my home out of mine with run arounds and no warranty service.

All I can say is buyer beware.

Why bother? Sat Buddies cost $150 and up, and any repair work is TURBO cheap. We're talkin around $10-$20 for most repairs. And they last around a year or so too before you've got to send em in... And when you do its fast repair work.
