NBA Basketball 2009-10 Season

I think that Larry Bird and Magic Johnson did more to help the game then Jordan did. Jordan rode their coattails.

And what about Bill Russell? If we're going to retire numbers based on greatness, we might as well retire the greatest winner the league has ever seen.

Oh wait, Russell was number 6, the same as LeBron's supposed new number. Hmmm...

True, or why not Jerry West, I mean he is the emblam for the NBA.

I kind of like the #6....

This is what I mean. Retiring the number of Jackie Robinson because of what he accomplished is unique. When you start doing it based on on-court/on-field accomplishments alone, it turns into a very grey area.

Atlanta at Boston- 8:00pm ET/5:00pm PT (ESPN/ESPN-HD)
L.A. Lakers at Denver- 10:30pm/7:30pm PT (ESPN/ESPN-HD)

I'd retire Connie Hawkins's number. He brought street ball to the NBA. Just go to YouTube and search for his name.

The Boston Celtics have retired Jim Loscotof's nickname. No one can ever be nicknamed "Loscy" again.

That's because #18 (Loscy's number) was retired for Dave Cowens. The Celtics honored Jungle Jim by placing "Loscy" in the Garden rafters.

BTW, the #18 was worn by another very good Celtics player, Bob Brannum.

Ty Lawson had a dunk over 2 Lakers tonight. Never seen someone 5'11" dunk over anyone before. He sure wasn't doing that at Carolina, not that I would have minded. :D

Couldn't agree more. I hope nobody else joins LBJ in switching numbers. #23 should be available in every city but Chicago.

the sad thing is the Lakers don't even have their 2nd best player still have only two losses

No comments on D-Wade's game winner?

I'm surprised- surely, I thought Salsa would come on here and pretty much celebrate like someone who got their first kiss.
