NBA 2008-09 Season

A few NBA thoughts....

-There are rumors about the Celtics being interested in acquiring Stephon Marbury from the Knicks. Am I the only one who thinks this trade would be disastrous and is extremely risky? What in the world is Danny Ainge thinking! The Celtics have great chemisty right now. Why would they want to jeopardize that?

-A few highly anticipated games tonight. One of them is the Detroit @ Denver game. This will be the first time AI and Chauncy Billups are reunited with their former teams.

-The other monster of a game is ESPN's primetime event in Boston @ Cleveland, tonight at 8pm.

"We know it is not just another game," James said after practice on Thursday. "We're looking forward to the challenge."

I have tickets and will be among the 20,000+ fans at the "Q" screaming my ass off as the Cavs try to go a perfect 19-0 at home and doing so against the defending champs.

Believe me, you're not the only one.

Don't do it Danny!!!!

It's a win-win situation for the Celtics. You guys seem to not have any trust in the leadership in that locker room. AND KG has played with him and he has no issues...and I am sure he as been informed about everything he needs to know and is more aware of the situation than any of us here. AND he is not being asked to lead the team in ANY WAY, EVEN if he were to start. The obvious leaders on that team are Pierce, KG and Ray Allen.

Besides....that 'team chemistry' stuff is overrated anyways...

Have fun at the game man! I will be watching it on Fox Sports Ohio. Rather here the local guys than espn. "The L Train taking it downtown!!" lol

For me personally, it's not even the chemistry thing.

I've never cared for "shoot first......pass second " point guards. That's why I was against the Sam Cassell move last spring.

I suppose that could lead to chemistry issues though. ;)

Well.....the real question is, IF the Celtics DO get him....rumor has it the Heat will claim him off waivers because they like him too.....IF the Celtics do get him, has he changed his stripes enough where he can adjust to not only being a team player, but not be the #1 or #2 option in terms of offense. Hell, he will more than likely be a #5 or a #6 options on the Celtics.

I say chemistry is overrated because when you win, that there is bad chemistry is never mentioned. Once the losing happens, then suddenly there was 'bad chemistry in the lockerroom' and fingers start a pointin'.....just an excuse waiting to be used.

Me too. Austin Carr is the man.....now only if they'd bring Michael Reghi back!

Yikes! According to the local forecast, we're supposed to get 6-8" inches of snow. The stow storm advisory starts at 6pm tonight and doesn't expire until tomorrow afternoon! Tonight's going to be interesting indeed driving downtown.

Looking at the outcome and LBJ's 38 points, I can't wait to hear what HD has to say about his experience.

Considering that the Browns lost the two games he went to, nice to see a positive outcome for him live in person.

Celtics @ Cavs - Postgame Thoughts/ First Hand Experiences

Just got back from the game. Great time indeed! I even got to sit next to Browns WR Steve Sanders! Very cool guy and seemed down to earth. I didn't want to bother him, so I ust wished him good luck next season and left it at that.

Anyways, during a timeout they dropped parachute lottery tickets from the rafters and one was coming in our direction. At just the right time, I jumped and scooped it up over WR Steve freaking Sanders!!! How cool is that? I felt like a shutdown corner! He laughed and game me a fist bump. :D

Oh, and the game..... Can you say "statement"?! Go Cavs!!!

The Q was definitely rocking tonight. Packed to its capacity, the crowd was very into the game. I've been to a few Cavs playoff games the last few years and this one certainly had a similar feel as far as crowd noise and magic in the air.

LeBron certainly stole the show though, both on the offensive and defensive end. The King had 38 spectacular points and held Paul Pierce to only 11.

I did think it was rather cheap that the Celtics seemingly surrendered with over 5 minutes to go in the 4th when they resorted to the intentional foul. As soon as Cleveland got the ball a Celtic would race over to Ben Wallace and wrap him up even though he was 9 feet from the ball. Seriously Boston?! There was over 5 minutes to go! Evidently they ran out of ideas on how to stop the Cavaliers.

Final Score 98-83. Cavaliers are now 19-0 at home and control home court in the Eastern Conference! This season is starting to feel very magical and I'm having a helluva time savoring every moment!

Go Cavs!!!!!
