Currently I don't have the line of sight for 129. I do have 110/119/118.5 but can't see the 129 bird. I have a second dish pointed to 61.5. I was told that this satellite will go down in the next few weeks. I do like the National Geographic Channel which is not available on HD on 72.7.

Does any one know if this channel will be transistioned on 72.7 eventually? Most of the other HD channels are on 72.7 so that's good.

Appreciate your help really.
PS: If I could just pick up 129 I would be all set.

It may or may not move. Unfortunately, we normally don't find out until the change has already happened.

Depending on where your local channels come from, we might be able to get you set up on a full Eastern Arc to get you all of your channels. What is your zip code?

91303. I can get 61.5, 72.7. I need the 118 for internationals. I can see 61.5 straight from my patio. for 118 Its out of patio looking to the right.

The HD locals for Los Angeles only come off 129, and since you have NLOS to that you won't get them in HD.

The best setup I can think of for you would be 119/118.7/61.5/72.7. This gets you the most channels

are you positive you dont have line of site for 129?

That is where the HD is on western arc and would be easier. You would only need one dish then

The installer tried and at first said nothing will come. He then tried for about an hour and said 129 will not come. The only thing he can try is to get 129 with a longer mast. that would do it I believe?

I believe I'll loose 110 then right. I believe LA Locals SD are on 110 or 119. Not sure

I don't think any locals are on 72.7. Some are on 77 and most are on 61.5.

I'm guessing you are in an apartment and can't put the dish anywhere else. Do you have a photo from behind the 118 dish showing your line of site?

But if he had 61.5 & 72 then 110 would not be needed honestly as all the HD that is on 110 (a few channels) and the SD stuff would be on 61.5 & 72
His Int'l is on 118 and 119 would have his SD locals

I agree, that's why I think the 119/118.7/72/61.5 would be the best setup for him

Here are my installation pictures. What do you think. Can I get 129? That would be just perfect.

ok so it looks like your line of site issue is due to the building...oof that may be tough. It looks very close but you might be OK

This is what I have done. I have contracted a dish network installer. This guy is good. he tries very hard with all installations. He is the one who got me my 61.5 satellite. offcourse he will charge me but says he will use a longer mast and test the signal out.

The extended mast might work.
Did the first installer have the 129 bracket and lnb on the dish when he tried to sight it in? Neither are there now.

Not normally done but you could do a DP21-DPP44 setup and see all five satellites, 119,110,118,61.5,72.7 good if you have only a single or dual tuner receiver (only one of either) not an ideal setup but I had it setup at one point with 119,110,129,118 and 61.5 but is it possible to perhaps mount a seperate larger dish just for 129? might be cheaper this way......
