NASCAR HotPass Customers With MPEG2 HD Equip. Might Be Eligible for a MPEG4 Upgrade

NASCAR HotPass customers with MPEG2 HD equipment will begin receiving automated phone calls today and some will receive emails.
HotPass will be in HD for the 2008 season but in MPEG4, not in MPEG2. So customers with MPEG2 HD hardware are eligible for a free swap to get their equipment ready for the MPEG4 broadcasts.

Again, ONLY those contacted with MPEG2 HD hardware are eligible for this free swap.

* How many receivers on the account will be eligible for free upgrades? If the Customer has 3 HD receivers, can all 3 be upgraded for free?

* If they have 3 MPEG2 LEGACY HD Receivers, all 3 would be swapped out. If they have 1 MPEG2 HD and 1 MPEG4 HD, only the MPEG2 HD receiver would be swapped out.

* HR10-250 to HR20/21 unit swap's , will be free.


* You have to signup for NASCAR HotPass 2008, to be eligibile for the free upgrade and have HD Access on the account.

* If a non-Hot Pass customer tries to call in, the system will not offer the free swap.

* A non-HD Access HotPass customer could call in and be eligible, but they would need to upgrade to HD Access.

* Customers Account must be up to date.

This is a great deal, people with old receivers, you are only spending 22.50x4 payments for nascar hotpass to get a brand new smoking HR21-700 or HR20-700!
If I had one of the old MPEG2 receivers (Which I don't sign I just signed up with DTV almost 2 months ago and got an HR20-700) I would upgrade without looking back, its totally worth it.

let me clarify this. i have an h10 on my account which isn't active. if i sign up for hotpass 2008, directv is going give me a free upgrade to an hr20 or hr21.....although, i have an h20 and 2 hr20's active?

To clear things up a little...
* if you run out and upgrade to HotPass then you will not be automatically qualified for this HD swap.
* The customers that are contacted are based on a given point at the end of the season if they had HotPass and MPEG2 hardware.
