The lead-up to the Daytona 500 looks different this year.
Pole qualifying for the Feb. 14 Daytona 500 isn’t the Sunday before the race. Neither is the Busch Clash, the annual season-opening exhibition event that precedes the Daytona 500.
They’ve both been moved to weeknights. And the Busch Clash is on the Daytona road course for the first time.
Tuesday night’s Clash is a 35-lap event with a caution after lap 15. All playoff drivers, stage winners and former Daytona 500 pole winners are in the event.
Pole qualifying for the Daytona 500 follows the Clash on Wednesday night. That’s just a day before the Duel qualifying races that will finalize the field for the Daytona 500.
Here’s the full schedule for the week.
