NASCAR 2012 season

That little sh*t can wheel a car for sure.

Yup, unfortunately we have to put up with his better than thou attitude now ... :(

He did a Great job saving the car about 3 times, thats just gonna remind people that you can't just tap him, ya gotta wreck him if you want him out of the way.

You drive a car at 200 mph with others less than 6" away and tell me that it doesn't take great skill.

Do you have the stamina to do that in 120* + temps for 4 hours a day each weekend ?
Having skill and stamina does not make it a sport. If so, Einstein would be considered an athlete.

I guess well just disagree on this ...
It takes incredible talent to drive a race car which none of you have probably done.
You guys don't like the Sport, thats fine ...
At least we have a thread.

I don't think anyone disagrees here. It does take incredible skill.

Again, skill and talent alone does not make it a sport.

OK, because it doesn't have a ball it's not a Sport ?
In all seriousness, this debate is very subjective and simply based on a person's own perspective of what they constitute as being a sport. I can see the argument as to why some would consider racing a sport. I just don't think it fits under what I consider a sport. For me personally, it has to be both a game and athletic.

For example, poker is a game, but it is not athletic. Even though ESPN shows poker competitions does not mean it is a sport. Racing, IMO is athletic, but it is not a game. This too means it is not a sport IMO.

Exactly.

I've seen an awful lot of NON Athletic people playing all kinds of "Sports".

I guess you have to describe what you consider the word "Game " to mean then.

There's plenty of "Teamwork" in NASCAR.
Driving the car is one part of the Sport of NASCAR.
