Nascar 2011 Season

I keep wondering about Brad Keselowski. He has the two wins that will get him into the Wild Card (chances are). Think about this, though. The runs he has been having have propelled him from not even being in the top twenty to 12th now. Assume he has a few more good runs and gets into the Chase by virtue of being in the top ten rather than as a Wild Card with two wins. Richmond will be fun if that happens with Ambrose, Menard, Ragan and Hamlin sitting there with a win each. Or Earnhardt Jr. and Stewart sitting right outside needing that one win. :) The Wild Card, in my opinion was a perfect idea. They made every lap and win matter headed up to the chase. I just hope it doesn't get stale when it starts.

Road race tomorrow

maybe I'll go visit the relatives instead

That's pretty damn bad. Sounds like I might be the only one to enjoy the road races. Wouldn't bother me if Road America and Montreal were added to the Sprint Cup schedule.

moot point as he is pretty much in. 3 wins gives him #1 wild card spot

Not really a moot point. Not everything I say is. If he gets into the Top 10, which is entirely possible at the rate he is going, the three wins essentially don't matter as he won't be a Wild Card anyways. The only two in the Top 20 then with a win (as it would stand now - assuming BK is non-wildcard) are Hamlin and Menard (who is currently 20th). I know I'm thinking ahead a great deal but if BK can find himself in the Top 10 by the end of the Richmond race a win would be pretty huge over these next two races if you are somebody in the Top 20.

Had too many timers to watch the race last night (plus forgot about it till it was almost over)...

Honestly, that is about all you needed to see. I think the biggest stories were the win by BK, the fact that the 24 was essentially dominant leading most of the laps but could never get around traffic after that last restart and that the 33 and 14 (both needing a huge race) had piss-poor efforts. The 88 wasn't amazing but considering how poorly the 14 and 33 performed it wasn't too costly.

Fwiw, Both Atlanta and Richmond are good tracks for Earnhardt.
IF Stewart has anything CLOSE to a decent race the last two, BK doesn't have a chance to overtake position #10.
21 points is a lot to make up in two races (thats half a race in points) ...

Rains in Atlanta have postponed tonights race ....
Tomorrows weather doesn't look any better, the race has been pushed to TUESDAY at 11am.

This is gonna make the final race in Richmond all the more interesting, being the shortened week.

Richmond race is Saturday night.
