NASA on HDNet - LIVE!

At 7:50PM local time they are "weather green" for launch and at T-12:00 and counting. At T-9:00 there will be about a 45m countdown hold as normal. so at least 55m until launch if the weather holds. So that should be around 7:45PM ET/4:45PM PT; correct?

Yup! 54 minutes to go. I was using the "real-time" countdown since T-20 or T-9 doesn't do much for getting the DVR ready!!! :D

Fingers and toes are now officially crossed for launch!

Hmm @ the top of the hour he just said "about 23:00 left on the built-in hold" that plus 9:00 would be about 30:00 after the hour for launch?

Did I hear him correctly?

I wasn't watching so I don't know, but the launch is supposed to be at 8:47; NASA.gov says 41 minutes and counting... heading to the tv now!!

I guess the launch delay screwed their programming sched. at 8:00 PM ET - NHL on HDNet
Chicago Blackhawks @ Minnesota Wild so maybe they will break into the "RHPS" to show the launch and then switch to the NHL.

EDIT: Just read this:

Note: Live coverage of the shuttle launch continues during the first period break of the NHL game between the Chicago Blackhawks & Minnesota Wild. If the shuttle launch happens during the second period of the hockey game, hockey viewers will see the launch during the break after the second period.

For Canada --- HDNet brings viewers in Canada uninterrupted NASA coverage from 7 PM - 9 PM ET.

They are also discussing wind issues at the launch. 47: after the hour for launch if it holds.

They need a HDNet Alt channel for just this sort; They will have a full HD replay I read or a small delay if it goes before hockey is in a break.

The shot from the external fuel tank is cool, but not as impressive as during the day.

I am waiting for a replay of the launch from one of their other cameras.

The other launch perspective was nice. Once it got above the smoke, it was fantastic!!!

They are now back to hockey...:(

It was fun watching the launch with you guys!
