Nintendo statement regarding PS3 delay

Our wonderful Nintendo rep Allison has sent me Nintendo’s official statement regarding the PS3 delay.

Wii is on track to ship in Q4, Nintendo plans to ship 6 million systems to retailers around the world between its launch in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the end of its fiscal year on March 31, 2007.

Sounds like good news to me! There should be a lot of happy Wii owners this holiday season!

I think I will give it a whirl. I got Xbox 360 but I find that controller so complicated. I dont game that much and I know why. Too many blasted buttons. Plus I should find dozens of games me and my 3 year old can do on Wii. Looking forward to that new controller.

is nintendo going to have a regular controller to be able to play the old nes games. that is the main reason i am going to get it and don't want to use the motion controller.

My son wants one to complement our 360 as he loves Metroid Prime, Rogue Squadron, and Super Smash Brothers, which he assumes will have new versions.

I hated the gamecube as the controllers were too small, and the games too "kiddie", but we'll see...

I'm planning to buy one too because the price tag is very attractive, and my daughter loves Mario Kart.
