This weekend I'll be adding a 72.5 dish to my cabin setup where I currently have an 18x20 dish installed. I'm doing this so I can get the locals as well. I've been doing plenty of reading and most of the guides tell me that I'll need a 6x8 switch to make this happen. Since I'm only using a single cable from the 18x20 dish for one box do I need to hook up all four cables from the 18x20 dish to the 6x8 switch? Can I get a smaller switch if this is the case? What switch should I buy?

what locals do you get?

Directv is phasing out the 72.5 slot. They've been doing that for over a year and there are only a few markets left

These get turned off 12/14 (and are the last ones)

Woo hoo! I helped do the phase out of the Evansville market! Nothing but SWM there now! I want to go back :(

The market is Traverse City, MI. Do you know if that is still on 72.5? IF not which one is it on?

Traverse City hasnt been on 72W for over a year. The Directv site (where I posted the above info) doesnt show Traverse City as being dropped this year...so it had to be last year

As raoul noted they are on 99W TP17 which requires the slimline dish
