I am moving one of my receivers to my cabin where I have an old Dish Network dish installed. It has been up there for over 6-7 years. I can't seem to get a signal? Is it because I need to replace the dish itself? Are the older ones no good any more with the new receivers?

Be Careful! See my "Dish Has Me Pissed" thread.

What model receiver do you have?
Will it do a "checkswitch" ?
Did any 40 foot pines grow in the path of the dish?
Do you see an unusual amount of black coax insulation in nearby squirrel nests?

Yeah, the extremely rude inconsiderate Dish Audit police might say that you are STEALING their service and shut your account down and not let you activate that second reciever ever again and lock your account if you try take an additional receiver somewhere else even though Charlie (Dish Network CEO) says its ok to do that and has said so on a previous Consumer Charlie Chat. If you have one receiver it should not be an issue.
