Motor Up or Down?

Excuse what may be a very stupid question, but does it make a difference if the motor shaft is pointed up or down?

from the image on that page it shows the motor mounter pointing down so I will guess that is the correct way.

If you mount a motor up when it should be mounted pointing down the motor will move in the wrong direction, example, if you drive the motor all the way to the East, the motor pointing upwards will drive all the way to the West. I believe that some motors have a switch inside that you can change for up or down, and others like the SG2100 can only be mounted downwards.
