Hi everyone, I've been reading this forum for years but always managed to find my answers without need to post any questions here.
I have a 9 foot original Radio Shack bought new BUD and have enjoyed it for many years, however i now have to replace the motor/gearbox, I have repaired it many times but this time I guess is beyond repair.
Does anybody here can tell me where I can buy one or if it is not on the market anymore, if it is possible to adapt a standard linear actuator to this dish.
Given my location in Northern Honduras I have clear view from about 40W-120W degrees so I can take full advantage of the H-H mount.
Here are some pictures of it .

Thank you so much for any help.
Luis

That motor looks EXACTLY like a motor from any standard satellite dish actuator. Find an old-school actuator from about the last 30 years or so (Reed sensor type) that works, and steal the motor off of it to transplant onto your dish.

P.S. It would be real handy IF you could remove the back of that motor, and post some real good pics of the innards. Might give us a better idea of what manufacturer it is exactly.

Looks like those were made for RS by Venture. I'm sure you could adapt a linear actuator motor to that mount and make it work again.

Thank you both for your reply, I do believe this might be a VENTURE it is well built but time takes its toll.
Here are some pics I took today, they are not that great but might be enough for identification, if VENTURE still in business I might be able to get a new one, that would be the best solution.
The motor actually works but if I move the dish east it works fairly well but if I go west the motor stops almost immediately and if I wanna go a fair distance say 10 degrees it's just a pain, this is not a motor problem but with the reed sensor which I've hacked way too many times and just don't want to deal with any more.
I also have another motor drive from a 24" actuator but it seams to be a totally different animal, so in case I can't find the original I'm gonna be forced to adapt a 24' or larger linear actuator but in the best of cases I fear I wont be even close to cover all the distance that the H-H covers.
Thanks again for your input.
