Hi all - I have installed many fixed small dish systems but am having absolutely no luck with this first motor install :p

My system: Fortec Classic NA, 100 cm dish, HH100 Motor, Invacom quad with diseqc 2 way switch. L on 2, C on 1. Used 11250 for c and 10750 for L.

Installed at zip 48108 using 42.13N 83.43W. Perfectly level mount. Checked and re-checked.

Dish elevation set at 23.5, Motor elevation set at 42.

180 degrees + 6 = 186 used for true south.

I followed the HH-mount-installation.htm at sadoun's site carefully and rechecked several times - what might I be doing wrong?

I have worked several times to get a signal on a true south bird using (at different times, of course): AMC3 @ 87W, Nimiq2@82W and AMC5 @ 79W and have never been able to get any signal reading.

Knowing that I may be missing something completely (there are trees, but very far away), I setup an old 18" dish and was able to get 24% right off and 80% with a little wiggling.

I hope I have given enough info - let me know what other variables might be needed to troubleshoot.

I have read and read and read and tried to start from scratch 3 or 4 times, so Im really open for any suggestions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hello and WELCOME to the SatelliteGuys.US FTA forum!

I always suggest you remove the motor and find/store your true south satellite THEN add the motor.

Same with the switch! That can be added anytime!

Since you have a quad LNB your true south would be Nimiq 2. Take the switch out of the loop until you get setup. Would not be a bad idea to find Nimiq 2 and save it before going further if possible and then add the motor. You probably know this but just to be sure, the dish can not just be locked on "what the settings are susposed to be". You have to keep it loose enough to move slightly for peaking signal.
