Monsters HD online petition

How many of the 13.8 million have hd? How many of them had every Hd channel. You cant go by the number of petition signatures. I think 1300 is really good. Even if you dont like the channels you have to admit it is not right the way they were just yanked, and its better to have variety rather than nothing. I am not a fisherman but I like that we have WFNHD because of variety.

No legal background, but I firmly believe Voom has a stronger position in court since they didnt capitulate to the 5 channel offer. Its a suite of 15 channels, and i think it opens a can of worms had they said yes to 5...mighta been an indication they were agreeing to be placed in the ultimate tier, which they are not agreeable to. we shall see...

You may be right there. Even if you accept the DISH argumetn outright---that they had a contract for 15 channels and VOOM breached it by not making the necessary investment --it is hard to see how DISH had a right to choose what channels it would carry or at what rate. Had VOOM agreed to this their case might well be weakened.

Even IF VOOM does not think they will prevail in court they might think that they will get a better deal if they hold out. If nothing else I am sure they want to decide what VOOM channels survive and not have DISH dictate that to them.

I wonder if they are going to try and change their channels, or try to get more on Dish from holding out.

How many even know about the petition on top of that. I find it funny how when it comes to points of view, you forget the numbers that do not prove your point. The Voom basher will insist that only 1300 people care about Voom/monsters HD. The fact is when you factor the all the numbers the percentages improve. (hd tv subs with top tier on dish, number of people that read sat guys or are have internet access..for examples) Please If you do not care for Voom or Monster HD , that fine with me. Just do not assume your dislikes are law.

Well Said.

I was doing Charlie math and we all know that it just doesn't add up!

Yea I am surprised how quiet this is going from Dish and Voom, I am hopeful this is good meaning they are working something out.

wrong denominator 13.8 millions do not have HDTVs :D

I asked this somewhere else earlier. How many of the 13.8 million have HDTV's.

Then of course there is a pretty big number that believe they are watching HD just because they have an HDTV but they only have the SD package. This crowd certainly don't look at this site of they would have a good idea what they are missing.

A local hospital near here, a doctors office waiting room and a pizza shop that I know of have HDTV's and all are stretching a SD signal.

How many HDTV owners look at this site? How many have stumbled onto the petition?

Answers to these questions are important and may be the reason the number of signatures isn't much higher.

There is a poll going on in another site that asks:

>Are you upset about the Voom takedown?
>You didn't care much about Voom.
>Didn't care one way or another.
>What is Voom?

The first 2 choices are running pretty much neck and neck. The last 2 are as well but with many fewer votes. Maybe 5% of the total.

I am happy that there are others that are upset like myself, I mean I dont know why this is so upsetting to me but I guess its just the fact that I was a big Voom supporter.

It has been a week since this petition has gone "live" and yet only 1,300 signatures? I think this petition is just showing that Dish (and Voom since Dish wanted to keep 5 Voom stations up, but Voom said all down or none down) did the correct thing, even if the way they went about it was wrong.

I think 1300 is a great number, how many people really know that there is a petition?

I wish I had the time to see how many names appear more than once, though. Just scanning a few of the pages I found a couple duplicates...more than likely due to lag on the website, but they are still counting toward the total number.

Things like that happen, I am more happy to see that there are others that share the same feelings and that at least one was started to get the channel back.
