Oh... you may be confusing the Caribbean Series with the Baseball Classic, in the Caribbean series play the champion from the winter leagues in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela, in a round robin with 6 games (2 against each other, one as 'away' team and one as a 'home' team).
Usually the series is star ridden because players love to demonstrate their level, mostly because of the love of baseball and in secondly because there are a lot of scouts (a very high number of latinamerican players get signed to the MLB after playing a big role for their country).
Of course there's also the occasional 'old' player, like Scott Erickson, former Oriole, who was playing in Mexico and had a good year with the team from the city of Hermosillo. There's the case also, of Ruben Rivera, who's playing in the finals for the Mazatlan Deers, against the team from Mochis (The Sugarcane Growers), Mazatlán by the way it's 3-0 in the series.
If you have ESPN Deportes, the spanish version of ESPN, you can catch the 4th game of the series this Sunday at about 6-6:30 pm Pacific Standard Time.
Cheers
