Jimbo,

I LOVED the guy up until this year.

I used to laugh at all the "Manny being Manny" propaganda coming from Yawkey Way. I used to defend him to anyone that knocked him (I know that's hard to believe ;)).

This year was DIFFERENT. He got physically violent with an elderly man and QUIT on the team that payed him $160 million to play a kids game.

Listen, I'm a huge believer that everyone is entitled to their opinion (a lot of my posts are prefaced with an IMO), but this issue is so black and white it's not even funny.

If you want to support or endorse a well-built man pushing around a senior citizen, a guy that quit on his team in the middle of the season's bigggest homestand (Angels,Yankees), a guy that flopped around like a fish in the outfield in Anaheim and was LAUGHING about it despite his team being humiliated............feel free. I'm out, and I don't care if the POS hits 100 HR's.

Keep the stats comin'!

I never said I endorsed this behaviour at all.

Sorry, I know it looked like I was directing that at you, but when I said, "If you want to support or endorse........" I was speaking generally.

After reading my post again, I can definitely see why you would think I speaking to you specifically. Again I apologize. :)

(but I did think it was directed at me !)

Sabres,
I'd like to add a question, if it's okay with you:

If you could choose any player in baseball to play on your team, who would you choose?

My choice: Hanley Ramirez

Runner-up: Grady Sizemore

Jimbo, did Cabrera live up to his hype and reputation this year?

Absolutley :D

After a slow start ( him and Sheffield had miserable April/May's) I think he was trying too hard.

M. Cabrera
37 HR's
127 Rbi
.294 BA

35 2b's
179 hits
159 Games Played

I would say YES
Ordonez also had a very good year after a remarkable year last year.
If they straighten out the pitching (starting and bullpen), find a SS and a Catcher they should be fine next year.

WHO would have thought that after trading the Marlins BEST PLAYER in Cabrera and the most consistant pitcher on Willis, it was THE MARLINS that got coser to playoff contention than the Tigers??!! Hell, I had the Tigers FOR SURE winning the World Series!

If the Marlins most "consistent" pitcher was a guy who in 2007 threw for an ERA of 5.17, IMO, the fish made out ahead by addition by subtraction....

Well...he was always dependable for 200+ innings in just about every year but is rookie season and OTHER than his last year with the Marlins, he a decent collective ERA of about 3.30 in his career with the Fish.

That's fine, but what I've been saying since last year was that D-Willy's skills have been diminishing for quite some time and the Fish did themselves a favor by getting rid of him.

I apologize buddy, I definitely take part of the blame, but saying Me-Me helped the Dodgers to the playoffs is one thing, but the Red Sox?????/

I kid you not when I tell you I wanted to vomit when I saw that!

I'm looking at the questions now and will post my answers shortly. :)

Maybe addition by subtraction? Didn't the Red Sox go on a major winning streak after the trade?
