Jimenez has been getting hit hard lately, even by the very weak Giants lineup. Remember, starters only need to go 2 or 3 innings, so they can throw a little harder than they usually do. Hopefully they do not lose control and movement as a result of trying to throw harder.
They'll eventually have to win, but just like the Cubs I wouldn't put my money on them winning until it actually happens.
Last year's MVP is not even worthy of a middle of the order spot. Just goes to show how potent their lineup is.
I would give it a 50/50 chance. If you look at the last 5 years, they games have been decided by 1 run. That is pretty much an even split that could have gone anyway. Some of those loses were a result of just one person having a bad outing or bad game. Again, it will probably come down to just one pitcher in any league blowing it one inning.
I would have went with Mauer in the 3 hole, Cabrera hitting cleanup and everyone else moves down a spot. I've always though the best PURE hitter should bat 3rd...........IMO, that's Mauer.
