MLB 2024 Season

Quite the parity atop the divisions. Astros at 88 wins, league worst, for the season and the LA Dodgers are at 98 wins at the other end of the spectrum... which is about $3.5 million a win payroll wise. Cleveland Guardians were the 92 wins (which is roughly 40 more wins that anticipated), The Guardians paid less than $1 million a win. In the preseason, the Guardians were +1100 (whatever that means) to win the World Series. A new manager, trending wrong way record, and a team that started the slump, this would be one of the most unpredictable wins if they pulled this off.

Very successful season regardless the outcome in the playoffs.

Hello Bill,
Long time no hear, good to see you back !

Yeah, been battling with my MS symptoms. Was diagnosed 5 years ago, but have been struggling with it the last year or so.

Tigers vs. Astros must have you conflicted. Should be a good 3 game series either way.

I will pull for the Astros, if that happens even though its quite possible that Verlander is not part of the Post Season roster.

JV May have pitched his last pitch ... maybe.

Great Pitching beats good hitting every time ...

Tigers Tarik Skubal pitching Great, Tigers hitting Astros Valdez, leading 3-0 so far.

Hoping the ALDS is during the daytime in Cleveland/Detroit. Lows in Cleveland to be in the low 50s which isn't terrible, but if it includes a breeze off the lake, it won't be particularly comfortable. Upper 40s next week for the lows.

Tigers are peaking at the wrong time for people in NE Ohio. It isn't like Cleveland was slumping into the playoffs either. Three games, three shutouts. Tigers can close it off tonight and ruin what was a rather miracle-like season for the Guardians... or Cleveland can take it back to Ohio for one more.

I am watching the Guardians v. Yankees series as I have in-Laws in the Cleveland metro area. I am a Cubs fan from growing up where I did, so I have mixed feelings about Anthony Rizzo being the Yankees’ first baseman. He did “help” Thursday night with the two mis-fielded singles which allowed the Guardians to come from behind and win Game 3, but the Yankees’ bats are strong.

I was joking with my Brother-in-Law that I watched the games that Cleveland won against Detroit, and the games in New York (which they lost) so the new theory was that the Foxbat mojo is limited to the Midwest. Which didn’t work last night.

I’ll turn the game on tonight. F1 Qualifying in Austin should be finished up by then.

The Cubs wanted nothing to do with Rizzo and didnt want to pay, thats on management. You have a multibillionaire who owns the team. And just a few years ago, he was dumb enough to say out loud they didnt have money for free agents because the triangle property across the street ran over budget!

Chicago hands down has the worst owners in all of sports, and they prove it over and over!

I am not a fan of the owners in any way but they allowed their President of Baseball Operations to spend $230 million dollars to put a .500 team on the field. He should be fired and find someone that has a clue how to assemble a team.

Fox is about to get their Dream match up, NY vs LA, in the hopes that it resurrects the TV ratings, which hit an all time low of a 4 Million Households average, viewing the World Series last year.
