I would take several players over Cabrera in the outfield. You have to be able to catch the ball! Being a great offensive player isn't enough for me. I'd probably take Curtis Granderson over him in the outfield.
Of course you would Cabrera's grown into his body an would more than likely never see the outfield again.

He was made an outfield due the Marlins depth at SS. GREAT arm, decent range...and that was it. Iron glove with a love for beer. His bat is scary, and so is his defense. That is why he is perfect for the American.

He's actually a pretty good 1bmen ...
And has decent hands.
And a great Arm.

Those great SS of the 90s and early 2000s.

Cabrera did play the outfield for a while. If you had a choice to build an outfield and could only choose Cabrera, Kemp, or Trout, which would you pick? Even though Trout still has to prove himself more, I would take Trout or Kemp over Cabrera.
Can you imagine seeing Trout playing the infield ?
First time he'd have a hot shot, he'd cry to go back to the outfield.

Thats not a fair question.

Of course your not gonna expect someone thats played the infield for the major majority of his career to be great in the outfield.

In the outfield, I would take Kemp ... Trout has only played for a year, could (not saying he will) be a one hit wonder, theres PLENTY of them out there, those that tore it up one year and couldn't come close the rest of thier time.
It is a fair question because people are judging who is the best simply on offense. If offense is that important, then it would not matter as much which player you take to play the outfield. Keep in mind that Cabrera did play the outfield for a couple of years.

I would pose the same question for the infield. Which would you take to play 1B, Cabrera, Kemp, or Trout? I am sure all 3 can play a half way decent 1B. You would be wasting both Trout's and Kemp's arm and speed by playing them at 1B. Even with that said, I would still take Kemp and Trout at 1B over Cabrera because they are both still better all around players

In 2000 he was listed at 6'2" and 185 lbs. Now he is 6'4" and weighs 240. Hmmmm. That's a lot of growing!

Your delusional if you think those two are better than Cabrera on the infield.
Cabrera turned out to be a very good 1bmen, has soft hands and probably made MORE good plays at 1b than Fielder.

I'm not trying to get political, but I just heard that former Florida governor Jeb Bush tried to buy the Miami Marlins, but Marlins' owner Loria rebuffed him. I guess because Loria is doing such a bang up job with the team he just can't imagine selling the team to anyone else.

Would it be safe to say that Loria is currently the worst owner in the MLB,especially since the Dodgers got rid of that owner that almost sunk them permanently?

Do you really want Jeb Bush owning your team ?

Here's PROOF that Peds don't always help :

Tigers Jhonny Peralta has been linked to the Peds out of Miami ... good grief, if these helped him, I'd hate to see what he's like without ...

Btw, if you read the article, you'll see Miguel Cabrera's name listed as well, but thats a misprint, it's Melky Cabrera, which we all knew already.

He would have done 1000 times better than the clown the owns the Marlins NOW!

Let's be honest here... there is NO WAY rout would go to 1b unless he was properly set-up to play the postion. So say this Jimbo is a stretch.

Like I have said...and has been proven a million times over, helps you get stronger, does NOT improve eye-hand coordination. Does not improve your batting eye. For every single Barry Bonds, there are 15-20 Jhonny Peraltas..

Where did I say they were BETTER at 1B? I said they are better all around players (which is why I would take them over Cabrera) and I am sure they can play a half way decent 1B.

I also said you would be losing a lot by putting them there as you would not be able to take advantage of two of their tools at the defensive end. The speed tool will still be important offensively

USA Today is reporting that Felix Hernandez has agreed to a new seven-year, $175 million contract with the Seattle Mariners.

The deal would make Hernandez the highest-paid pitcher in baseball history.

For the time being ....

That said, I'm glad they did this deal, while it's good for Felix, it's probably Not good for Seattle as they probably won't do much more to upgrade the roster and will finish out of the Playoffs for those 7 years.

He's a Politician, he already LIE'S and CHEATS ...

My point about Loria is that NOBODY right now could be any worse than he is. He ruined baseball in Montreal. He got his stadium in Miami & then cleaned house on his team. At least Jeb Bush wouldn't be sole owner of the Marlins. Like Magic Johnson & the Dodgers,he'd be part of an ownership team. He was trying to be a part owner of the Marlins like his brother was part owner of the Rangers. Someone else would no doubt run the day to day operations of the team.
