This 70" picture rocks, been watching an assortment from both dvrs tonight... Heart from Rave, Back to the future and BSG from UHD, CBS HD stuff... and I have not hooked up HDMI yet... 
for my eyes this rivals the material I have seen from the 1080p 72" Mits TV at the place I bought it from.. ( but they had D*HD (looked good)and 5th Element Blu-ray on it when I saw,( which they (Avs)say sucks)) so no true reference point and days apart...

Hey D, when did you shrink down to 70"? I thought you were up over 100" like we are?
I swapped computers and now have the Pc with an nvidia6600 hooked to the Mits via hdmi. I downloaded some HD clips from around the web, this thing is awesome! Dvds look much better and I haven't downloaded powerstrip to this pc yet, just using the nvidia settings...
I have pretty much decided that PQ wise no difference between 921 and 622 componont wise... same, same...

I've had my HD1000 for 2 weeks now and it's a BEAUTIFUL thing. I upgraded from the X1. Now I'm just waiting for the HD players to drop down in price, and see what happens with the 2 formats. By the way, is it normal to watch with my pants around my ankles?

Not all together 100% true.
I do not think it was really EVER a 100% ban. Seems more the case that some user or maybe media BD hater took a known detailed comment and twisted it or mis-quoted it to fool or mis-lead others.
