I am new to this board, just did a "Dish it Up" upgrade from a 625 to a 722K after purchase of a new HDTV. Dish gave me the new receiver for $50 and threw in HD service for free for a year (didn't even have to ask). However, when the tech brought out the new receiver and hooked it up, she apparently didn't check to make sure that all HD channels in the HD Bronze package were available and I didn't think to check myself assuming that if I received one I was getting them all.
I spent an hour or more on the phone with DISH tech support with them trying to resolve the issue with Switch Checks, System Resets, etc. They go to the bottom of their list of things to check and decided to ship me a replacement receiver. I got frustrated and started doing some of my own research and found this forum. I'm hoping someone can give me a little further information to be armed with when I call DISH back after the replacement receiver makes no difference. It appears to me at this point that something with my Satellite dish/LNB/Switch setup is causing me to not receive any of the HD channels broadcast on 61.5. For example, I get SYFY HD and ESPN HD but not Food Network HD or Discovery HD.
Is there something I can check on the dish itself, or with screens in the receiver install menu to determine that I have some wiring/hardware deficiency? From the ground I can see the dish itself says DISH 500, there is a single cable running from the dish to the receiver, and then a splitter to connect that cable to the two inputs on the 722. On my "System Info One" screen it says:
Status - Check "Details" for LNB
On Details I see:
LNB Drift Detected...
0x0e,0xa1,119(e -6)
0x0e, 0xa1, 110(e -6)
STB Health Lite
Tuner 0 as of 11/30/09 11:33am
Orbital 14 15 16 21
110 77 72 76 72
119 68 70 73 71
129 0 0 0 0
I have read that error values on LNB drift greater than +/- 8 warrant LNB replacement, so perhaps this is a side issue and not the cause of my missing channels.
If there is anything further I can post here that would be helpful in troubleshooting this issue let me know.
Thanks in advance -
Greg
