Its raining here so I figured I would try this.

CW C-Band 91

I tired with one battery and it lasted one minute before rebooting.

So I have two 9 volts now as of this post at 11 minutes.

Update: 13:05 bats got very hot. So that means it's not worth it however worth the try.

A 12v garden tractor battery would be the smallest I would use... A 12vdc Deep Cycle battery if you want to watch for a good while. But then what's the fun of a sure thing?

For us, both the TVs and the receiver need to run on 12v DC. Bank I use is 4 Trojan 6V DC, T-105, 225AH in series parallel for 12 VDC, 450 AH.

Wonder how long it would last without coax hooked up?

Not long. It's rated at 2 amp draw, and there's no way 9 volt batteries can sustain that sort of continous current. Of course that would probably be flat out with a motor and such, but still 9 volt batteries are tiny. Now a bunch of "D" batteries wired in series for 12 volts could hold out for a while I'd bet.

Yeah I was thinking the same using 18 D batteries.

What about lithium batteries from lost leader prepaid cell phones? I bet bestbuy will have some for $2.99 again so.
