It felt kinda rushed to me. There was a lot going on in the episode and I felt like things could have been stretched out a little. The ending reminded me a little of the finale of Six Feet Under advancing in time, but unlike SFU they didn’t show the age progression of all the major characters. The pregnant Ariel didn’t like she was ~25 years old, and they kept Bridget out of it for obvious reasons. Joe did look 7 years older, but my new TV can show a lot of flaws in this kind of stuff, and that was one bad make up job I must say. Pretty sad actually, such a great series, having a mediocre at best ending. Like I said a few months ago, the show had a great run and I will miss it, maybe one day I’ll even get to see the series premier :)

I also liked seeing the out of character clips at the end.

I liked it .It reminded me of the ending in Titanic, Somewhere in Time, etc. I've seen this type of ending before, but it did have plot twists that made it interesting. I'm sure they didn't really have much time to consider a great send off ending , so this was written to give show fans some closure. They even let you say goodbye to each character individually as well as update you on the true Allison and Joe Dubois and where they were living and how they were doing . Both were still alive. I'm glad it's over. It was time for the show to go away.

It was probably rushed. They probably had the plot of the drug lord in the works and they got the info that the series was going to end so they reworked it a bit to try to tie up some lose ends.
