Medium

Your Welcome :) Medium is one of my favorite shows that I rarely get to watch... I need to catch up...

Scheduling this particular show in July raises a whole lot of questions. Since Don is behind, I can't get too specific, but they did leave us with a giant cliffhanger. CBS has said that Medium starts up again on Sept 26 on CBS. I wonder if this 'special' show is meant to clear up the cliffhanger, so they can get a fresh start on the new network.

It is supposed to be on Fridays this fall so no telling how many episodes they will show, I know it was a shortened season...
NBC was bad about shortened seasons for Medium, but CBS signed up for a full 22 episode season this Fall.
Probably because they own the series, and more episodes means more syndication money.

scratch that. This is the season 5 opener. I guess CBS also acquired the rerun rights.
CBS showing a rerun did give one benefit. It allowed me to set up a "New Episodes" timer on CBS, and kill the one on NBC. So now it's ready for the premier in Sept.

Shortened seasons have hurt all shows. Viewership has dropped for Lost and others as well. I'm sure it will hurt Chuck and Heroes even more.

I stopped watching the show for a few years, but I feel this season has been its best ever. Granted, the Friday night ratings weren't stellar...but they consistently won their timeslot. Unfortunely, the show is CBS where they have a stong primetime lineup and two new strong mid-season series waiting to air. I wonder if the Criminal Minds spinoff will occupy Medium's timeslot? Sad, but interesting...

Canceled? I Wonder if the medium saw it coming.;)

But seriously the show has gotten a bit silly to me. One week her one hand had a mind of it's own like" Dr.Strangelove." The next week she can't comprehend spoken English ,but can read it. One week her and her fat daughter switch bodies ala "Freaky Friday".To me this gimmick of the week proves that the writers have run out of ideas. I feel the sorriest for her tv hubby Joe who never gets to sleep an entire night without being woken up by Allison due to her damn dreams. If I were him I would of slept on the couch.

I agree it has gotten a bit gimmicky. There is also the inevitable conversation between Allison and her boss, husband or the cop where they essentially say "Although your visions have proved to be spot on the last gazillion times, what you are saying is crazy so I'm not going to believe you". Doesn't anyone think she might have built up some credibility by solving hundreds of cases.

I still watch it weekly though, and will hate to see it go. How many shows feature an engineer at work?
