Hello All-- I am trying to build my own light-weight mount for connecting my dish to motor. I am using the messages and pictures in prior threads as models. My problem is that I need a mechanism/mount to change the dish elevation. Other members seems to have taken them from other dishes/mounts. I don't have any to pirate from. My dish is a Channel Master 1.2 M and my motor has a 55mm thick shaft (hard to fit to)(points down). Any ideas where I can get a part (to change dish elevation) which I will need? THANKS!! ;) :D

I thought you were gonna get a GeoSatPro 1.2 with elevation screw and a nice mounting bracket.

Go back and look in the Primestar/SG2100 thread at how DirtyShame adjusted his elevation.
I kinda liked what 7720driver did to accomplish the same thing.

Somewhere in a previous thread (I can't find it right now), someone used long bolts and nuts to adjust his mount for elevation.
Was kinda tedious.
Similar idea is shown in this sequence by NSAspook. (1st and 5th frames show best)

Use the skew plate from a D* Phase 3 dish. My 1m that used a bolt to adjust elevation...it WORKS..but not as well as the skew plate method does. Although on the other hand on a 1.2m it might be too heavy for the skew plate. I used a conduit clamp on the motor mast with a bolt on my 1m. I'll see if I can dig up the pics for ya.

Here's the link to my 84e P* with the skew plate mount. I couldn't find the link with my 1m dish with the jackscrew...but if ya wanna see it lemme know and I'll take a pic for ya. :up

Gentlemen, thank you. But where can I buy the D* Phase 3 dish skew plate or similar device??

Stogie-- I was admiring your link--->will the skew plate off of the D* phase 3 dish fit my motor shaft, which is 55 mm?
Thanks

My friend, only YOU can answer that question. There's a little play there...I don't remember how big the stock shaft on the SG2100 is...but I would bet that there is some play available. When you get into custom fabrication, its just that, custom. We can give you ideas, and how WE did it, but you have to apply it to your install.

I went out this morning and took some pics of my 1m setup. I used a foot mount off a D* dish and the conduit clamp elevation screw. The plate you see is aluminum, not steel. To wit:

Great shots, Stogie! The way you accomplished elevation adjustment is ingenious.

I recently found myself using conduit clamps to attach a 5.5' 1 5/8" fence post to my motorized NPRM for a Winegard Square Shooter. I used a 2" conduit clamp for the 2 3/8" NPRM tube and bolted it to a 1.25" conduit clamp to hold the 1 5/8" tube piggyback. So far the installation is holding up well against our afternoon thunderstorms :)
