Huge Ohio State fan here. Congrats to LSU. They outplayed Ohio State, out-executed them, made few mistakes, and outcoached them. Senior laden team that played like one (Ohio State only started 2 seniors). Heck, the Ohio State players after the game were talking about how physical LSU was and that they were more physical than the Buckeyes (isn't that supposed to be a forte of the Big Ten). The better team won that game, but like alot of Buckeye fans, I wished we wouldn't have made so many mistakes. Might have been a more entertaining game for the casual fan.

I'll let everyone return to their pissing match now...

Also, we had to hear the talking heads whine about how Ohio State was sitting home on the couch while other teams were out there playing and losing. Even though it's a BS argument considering that every team plays roughly the same number of games
In the poll standings, the layoff actually helps. With the poll system, later loses are harder to recover from. Being done while others play prevents that later loss, as all you can do is rise.

Uh, you might want to consider Georgia (this year) & Michigan (last): if other teams win after you, they can jump you. So you can fall, not just rise...

In those cases, a conference champion rose above a non-conference champion. I expected those, because the coaches take conference championships seriously. More so than the AP writers, who's votes no longer really matter.

This time it did, not usually, LSU benefited from it as much as OSU did.

The difference between LSU and Ohio State however, was that LSU didn't actually have a layoff help them. They had upsets help them the final weekend of play, in which LSU had to play a game as well.

Wasting your time with OSU fans. I'm a transplant in columbus, after being here a week I've became anti-buckeye. (10 years now) These are the most obnoxious fare weather fans in the world. There teams up, you can't stand to be around them. There teams down they're no where to be seen, but the ref's are out to get them. blah, blah, blah. They do not lose gracefully, espeacially to Michigan. They damn near burnt the city down several years back after loosing to them!

They damn near burnt it down when they won the NC in 2003!

I've lived in Ohio for going on 5 years now, and the Buckeye fans are no worse than any other fans. You wan't to see obnoxious, try living in both Dallas and Denver during their back to back Superbowl years as I did. Bronco fans rioted downtown Denver and were teargassed after SuperBowl XXXII! Some a-holes just get out of hand.

Granted though, there are whiners around who refuse to see what's in front of them. ;)

Anybody watching this game today in the wonderful snow !!!!

SEC fans, THIS is weather that football was meant to be played in !!!!!

This is awesome !!!

btw, the stands are packed as well .... for all the weather has to be perfect for us to go to a game SEC fans

Why would they want to play a game in that weather? Now instead of being team vs team its team vs team vs weather. A game played in perfect weather means its only the teams who are competeing not the teams and nature.

Wake up Stevenl, domes are for whimps! Football is part of the fabric of american society. The Green Bay game is exactly why neither LSU nor Florida has played a game north of the Mason-Dixson line (except for KY league games) since 1991.

Artificial conditions make for artifical champions.

(here it somes...:) )

So the only way OSU can win a game againe SEC is if it snows? Is OSU Really that bad of a team they need the weather also to help them win?

A game played in perfect weather means the team that win, won because they kicked the other teams ass.. Not because "They play better in the snow" but because they simply "play better"

Hey Stephenl,

Who's your Pro football team ?
How about your baseball team ?

Jimbo

Im not a big fan of pro-ball but I support any team from Florida probably starting with the bucs then jags then miami (I only put Miami last because my best friend is a Miami addict so I have to root against them otherwise itd be boring watching with him)

Baseball? The only team I ever really got into was the Atlanta braves. But I also support the Marlins well because they are my "home team" if you will.

Basketball, Well the Orlando Magic of course.

The only sports though that get me really wound up and ready to watch is college football. If I miss a magic game or a bucs game or what ever I want bother to set the DVR, but a gator game gets the DVR anytime! i cant be there to watch live.

Why would they want to play in such horrid weather?

and they are the "South Eastern" conference.. Which would indicate they play games in the south. They also have as much control over where the CG and bowl games are played as the big 10, so they do not have "all" the power in regards to playing in the north or south. They play their regular season games in the south because thats where their fan base is, Thats who wants to watch them, etc. You only get what 12-13 games a year so why not play the teams that will give you the most bang for your buck.

Regardless of where the game is played, the point still stands. Iwhen OSU can beat FLA or LSU (hell any SEC team from their record) in Perfect weather, then they can complain about it not being crappy enough weather. ? How many games did OSU play this year in snow? OSU fans are the only people I can recall complaining about the weather being to nice to play football.

The most ridiculous argument I have ever heard. I mean at least come up with something like "of the refs hate us" or "oh that sec cheats.." You stoop to "The weather was to nice!" wtf!!

Some of you Big10 guys make it sound like it snows up here all the time during college football season. I've been living up here now for almost 7 years (two in Milwaukee), and I can't remember any college game that was played in snow or cold like we saw in Green Bay the day before. In fact, since I've been in Ohio, the Bucknuts have had some really easy winters. I've seen it as cold in Louisiana! :D
