Loyalty Offer

Just came out of my 2 yr contract, so I contacted Dish to see what they could do for me as far as pricing.

To my surprise, I received this offer which does not require any term commitment on my part.

10$ off for 12 months.
3 months free HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax.
After some discussion, they also threw in 3 months free Playboy and 3 PPV certificates.

Not bad for a 10 minute phone call. Best part was no new contract. Free as a bird.

Just thought I would share this, in case people are wondering what types of offers are available through Customer Loyalty.

Of course, YMMV depending on the agent you get.

I contacted Customer Loyalty online by asking the first online agent to transfer me to someone who can make me a loyalty offer.
 
Of course, all this post means that most people on here will now flood the loyalty department demanding the same thing....... :p

And then everyone will wonder why Dish doesn't give a loyalty offer to *anyone* next year.

Yeah. The 27 people who read this, are out of their contracts, are spending enough to justify a reduction, and decide to call will sure kill it for the other 14 million.

Nah... I meant all the other people that are NOT out of thier contract, just started with Dish two months ago, but will call anyways to beg for free stuff because someone else that was out of contract got something. :p

Sorry... Just being a bit cynical this morning. :)

The thread was meant to help anyone who is out of contract and currently weighing their options with the competition.

If people who are still in a contract are silly enough to call and request the same deals, their greedy tactics should quickly be squashed by Dish Loyalty agents.

Wasn't expecting a thank you, but I have to say I am surprised that my thread is being hammered by others.

I would hope that this post saves 120$ to everyone reading this who is out of contract. The free premiums and PPV are a nice bonus.

It is a Dish Loyalty program, so clearly they are expecting people to take advantage of it as it generates good retention ratios.

To be fair, it was only hammered by ONE other. The other hammering was of the original hammerer.

I'm sure your post will help others. I hope everyone who is out of contract would take advantage of this program. It's a nice change of pace compared to Dish's previous retention policy, which was "don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out."
 
Really did not have to argue, and I did not threaten to cancel. I asked to confirm when my contract expires and they said it already had. They asked why I was inquiring abut my contract and I said I was looking to see if I could get a loyalty promotion. I never said I would leave. The conversation was very polite and took all of 10 minutes.
 
I think it is good that Dish gives loyalty offers as it is cheaper to keep a sub than to lose one and pay all the costs of acquiring another in it's place. It shows customer some appreciation.
 
Well, the free Playboy was a bonus but I think the whole loyalty offer was more than fair.

By the way, I asked if rates were going up on Jan 1 2013 (when the price guarantee ends), and they told me there are no anticipated increases in the package prices at this time.

We shall see...

They can just raise the receiver, DVR, and protection plan fees again, which is how they can advertise that they haven't raised package rates in X number of years.
 
Well keep in mind they usually don't increase prices till Feb.or March anyway.So in this case the csr was right.I fully expect to see an increase just as soon as the 2 yr price freeze is up.
 
Sharing my own personal experience after reading this thread...

The first CSR I talked to was reluctant to send me to the Customer Loyalty department, saying he could help with my contract term and loyalty request. I am also out of contract, and all he offered was half off 6 months of Starz, which I do not currently subscribe to. He then said I could lower my price by dropping to a lower package. After another request to chat with Loyalty, he reconnected me there... with a world of difference. The initial offer was 6 months of half price HBO and SHO (which I DO subscribe to) and $10 off for 6 months. After noting that a friend received a similar discount for 12 months, he extended the $10 off for a year. I didn't want to push my luck with the PPV and Pboy so I offered my thanks and accepted.
