Long time subscriber - quit and start again?

I'm an existing customer (over 7 years) and we have the 625. I want to upgrade to the 722K. I called in and CSR wants to continue to charge me $5.98/mo for the DVR fee. Any way to get out of this? I was also offered $5 off per month for 10months, 2 year contract, free install+equip. Good deal?

It seems like you're almost penalized for being a long time customer. It seems like it's easier to cancel the service and then start the service again under another person's name with the latest deals. Any reason why I shouldn't consider doing this?

the entire receiver fee charges are being reworked, i would wait a week

Currently the AEP makes the DVR fee go away, but it appears thats changing

- Dish Classic Bronze and locals $39.99
- HBO & Showtime $22
- DVR service fee $5.98
- Int'l Channels (Sony & Zee TV) 24.99
- 2 Premium Package - Adjustment -$10 (what is this?)
- Tax $1.07

Total: $84.03

Is there any way to drop the price for the package above?

Drop international channels

Slamminc11, I'd like to drop the channels you mentioned, but there are other family members that would revolt
I was asking if there was a lower price for the packages mentioned (bundles, monthly cash back, signing a 2 year contract, etc).

Everyone is paying the DVR fee. It's either a part of the package with locals at a cost of $5 or a separate charge of $5.98 if not included in the package.

untill E gives the official word, I wouldnt depend on any leaks here. since things may and likely will change.
