Good day.
Contract ended a couple days ago and while I did try to call in yesterday using the loyalty number it said 41 minutes but went to 51 so I gave up for the moment.
Question being is there a way to just keep locals only with no package?
Can I pause and keep the locals?
Or am I stuck having to have a package which even doing the flex there is like 2 channels I occasionally watch in it and would be a serious waste of money especially if I had to tack on another $14 just for locals?
Also if you have a suggestion of an app of just abc, fox, cbs etc would appreciate it.
Oh and YTTV does not work in my location but I guess I could invest in a VPN if locals are an option with them
Thanks

DISH should allow locals only like they used to years ago. Now they do allow you to not subscribe to them at all, if you want to save the $14.00 a month. Might even attract or keep a few more subs if they did allow locals only. But I am sure that they would want an "access fee" added to it to make more money. All about the FEES you know.

Thanks for the replies so far. Havent called again yet but the welcome pack does not show on the site I can find. Just starts with flex.
Is there somewhere I can see the list of channels included?

The problem with the welcome pack, is you will still have a box (s) / DVR charge on top of that $55.

If you only watch the locals, Paramount+ with Showtime includes a Live Feed of CBS and Showtime, Peacock-NBC, Hallmark, Reelz, both with the On Demand Content also, Hulu would be On Demand the next day for ABC/FOX content, pricing will be around $40 Commercial free

Of course, you would have to check your area if available.

If any other questions, please ask in the Cord Cutters area of this forum.

if all you care about is locals, why not just get an OTA antenna? If you want to record those locals, add on an HD HomeRun?
According to his profile, he is in the United States Virgin Islands, which only has 4 full power stations, Ion. CBS, PBS and Cozi.

So, there might be issues receiving the signal from the Low Powered Stations.

Also, according to Wiki, no ABC or Fox stations on the island.

Yeah price of living in paradise (sometimes wonder where that went over the past few years) but no we really have no "local" channels as all are piped in from babylon--think we do have a local nbc but not sure as i dont really watch locals--just basically wanted to know about if locals only can be done as all i really want is fox news a couple times a day
I see fubo does have it but it also has another 100 stations i dont care about and is expensive just as dish for just watching a few channels alone
going to take a moment (i hope) and call later today and get the final answer and depending on it may just put it on pause while trying a few different apps
No idea though where i can find a channel list of the welcome pack before i call an inquire about that as the phone jockeys will tell you yes something is in it only to find it is not?
Thanks again and will post back what i find out if i can get through without half a day wait

Fox News is not part of any locals.

If all you want is news, is Sling available to you, that would be your least expensive option.

Just way you are going to cancel, that is usually is the only way you might receive a better offer to stay.

Fox News is not part of the welcome pack, Sling is still a lot less expensive.

I myself would love to be able to get a local only package. I spend 6 months during the summer in an RV in "no man's land " between Chicago & Indianapolis and OTA is spotty. Flex pack with locals is now over $80 a month. I do put my account on pause for 6 months for $5 a month, but I would be perfectly happy with locals only. I don't have internet access so streaming is not an option.
