So, just for kicks I was checking out the new HD packages on Dish's HD webapge that came back up today.

http://www.dishtv.com/hd/programming/pricingandpackages/platinum/index.shtml

I clicked on "Get your locals" or whatever it's called and it takes you to page to put in your address to see if you qualify. I didn't think DC was ready for a couple months as we are never listed in the first month roll-out, but to my surprise, it says it's ready. All I have to do is call and order it...... in theory.

Think it's legit?

How do I break this to you... those are locals in SD, not HD.

If that's true, the webpage is INCREDIBLY deceiving.

I will have to add that in the DC area we have a lot of locals channels available OTA, even more if you live within reception distance to Baltimore.

So you wouldn't have to wait for Dish to offer the HD locals, or miss out on all of the SD sub-channels, plus get PBS & WB HD channels, and not suffer the diluted quality issues that DirectTV has with their HD locals.

Just food for thought.

Does anyone know when the HD locals in the 6300's (see this list) will be available?
And when is S.F. available (not yet in the list)?

The locals in hd in the 6300 range will be turned on by city as nyc and la are on...

no idea on the other cities..
if SF is not on the list i wouldnt expect it for a while :)

Swap 811 and 625 remotes with each other?

Discount for no locals?
