I have a round dish with a single LNB.I need signals from 101 and 119 for locals.I have good signal strength from both but cant get locals(yes I have subscribed). Can I use this setup or do I need a dual LNB and a 22 switch? Thanks for your help.

I can't think of a single lnb dish that is round that tunes both 101 & 119. Use the link below to find your dish & let us know which dish you have. You can scroll down to view the older dishes. It might also help if you tell us your location as some locals are still on 72.5. The phase3 is more oval & tunes 101, 110 & 119; it was the last dish before they came out with the 5lnb AT9.

What DIRECTV dish antenna type do I have? DIRECTV SlimLine, DIRECTV SWM SlimLine, International Dish, Phase I, Phase II, Phase II+, Phase III, ....

I misspoke. It is the phase 1 with dual LNB.I am in Mi and need 101 and 119 to get local.when checking signal strengh it reads strong on both sats.Would using a SW22 switch work or do I need something else? Thanks

The phase 1 with dual lnb can only see 101 with the 2lnb's being used to feed two receivers. I'm not sure why you're seeing any signal on 119 because it can't see both birds. If you only need 101/119 you can purchase a Phase3 dish off ebay but a call to DirecTV should get you what you need, usually a Slimline. I think I remember people using two phase 1 dishes to bring in each bird then combining them with a switch but I can't remember if that was a work-a-round with DTV or maybe Dish. It's better to upgrade to the correct dish.

Because on the older D* multisat receivers, if you are NOT using a switch & try to switch birds on the signal meter, the receivers are NOT smart enough to know that you are feeding a signal from the SAME sat position. (ie: it will continue to show signals on the meter REGARDLESS of which bird you select on the receiver)

Prudent advice in this case... ;) ;)
