Local Channel Numbers

I have a 4000 receiver. I've had it for years. Now I have the DFW local channels. On another receiver, I can see the locals on their normal channel numbers, 4,5,8,11, etc. However, on my 4000, they are only in the 8400 range. I get nothing below 101. Dish tells me I don't have my favorites set up correctly. They try to walk me through it, but when I go to "all channels" or try to set up favorites, the local channels don't show on the listing by the local channels numbers.

Is this just an issue due to the very old receiver? Has Dish screwed up the programming? Are the Dish tech support people basically morons?

yep...its due to not enough memory in the box

The 4000 cannot map the channels down to the "normal" channels. I have a 5000 that does the same thing

Your receiver doesn't map the numbers down because it is OLD..
Dish hasn't screwed up anything..

And Yes.. The Dish Customer Support People are Morons.. Well most of them anyway,,

If you check the other receiver, you will see the locals in the 8400 range as well as the map down location.
