Are DirecTV and Dish Network LNB's the same? :confused:

For example: Could I use a DirecTV dish and LNB with a Dish Network receiver and subscribe to Dish Network programming or use a Dish Network dish and LNB with a DirecTV receiver and subscribe to DirecTV programming?

Thank You,
Dave

No.

LNBs are designed for specific frequencies of satellite and to receive signals from specific satellite locations.

Furthermore, there's little, if any, point.

Both Dish and DirecTV will more or less give you a state of the art dish free when you subscribe.

Try this site it will answer some of your questions.http://www.switchinfo.info/index.htm :)

I used an old dishnetwork 300 dish with a directv reciever to get NFLST when it was dropped from C-band. Early lnb's were interchangable, but not later ones.

Ghosting=Bad built in multi-switch?
