I think you might get a more complete answer if you provided a little more info.
How many dishes will you have ? Will you have more than just the d500, How many receivers will you be connecting to, and what type. Dual tuner or single tuner. Im sure there's more questions.

details

alright lets get into details

Currently i have ONE dish 500 connected to my dvr 625 (with 2 input coming from the satellite both going into the DVR-dual tuner)
this works fine..

BUT i am going to add a FTA system, so i have a another dish 500 which has a defective lnb (i think) and i would need to buy a LNB for it(as stated above)..

In the end what i plan to do is.. Have 2 connections coming out from each of my dish 500, one from each going to the DVR and the other one from each going into the FTA reciever?

OR
Should i just leave my current setup alone and instead buy a motorized or separate dish for my FTA system?

Thanks,

i was told that i can connect my fta reciever to an existing 18"dish with the same lnb?
Unless i was mislead

no i am not.

Well according to the above post..
I can still recive some channels, although they might be lame.
I guess i need to do more research about fta then..

But my actualy question about lnbs got sorta lost..
