My lnb will move my motor, but I can't get any signal all of a sudden. Can a lnb be bad, but still move a motor, or do I have an alignment problem or something?
I just figured I'd ask before I make the journey to the roof. I do have a spare lnb to test with thankfully.

Thanks.

The receiver moves the motor, not the LNB, so you could have a bad LNB with the motor working perfectly. However, 99 percent of the time the LNB is good and the problem lies somewhere else (cables, switches, dish aim).

Always set up in this order: LNB -> switch (if any) -> motor -> receiver.
