Maybe they will take a look at FiOS and decided to drop the prices. :yes Ok, I'm dreaming again...
If they are going to stay competitive in FiOS markets, they sure the hell better not raise them much. Just on the ~160 "Expanded basic" lineup has Dish beat at the AT120 level. Once Fios TV gets more widespread availablity, Dish will definitely be losing more then a few customers.

Looks like.. not only the Audio, but you got the Video now also, Scott ;)
I always have video, I have a showroom receiver, I am just not normally home to see the chat like I was today. The showroom receiver is not a DVR so I usually dont see replays until days later. (And I don't have a VCR anymore in the house)

The "heat or food" talk is all over the news here in cleveland, but at least ohio helps the poor pay for heat. The problem I think is that people need to turn their heat down a little. An old woman had a 2 month bill of $473 last year that she couldn't pay and I was shocked at that. I keep my place toasty but it's less than half that. I realize toasty for me isn't as warm as someone else's toasty, but still I could turn it up a few degrees without worry. What temps do you guys keep it during the winter, 90?

Back to topic, any word on what DISH wants sirius to change/add? Some of the talk channels i would imagine, now that XM talk channels will be on E*, but did they mention anything specific?

When I moved out to the forest 4 years ago, I was led to believe propane was going to be much more expensive than natural gas. Well, I was paying $1.55 a gallon then and I payed $1.95 a gallon a few weeks ago. That's only a 25% increase over 4 years. Yet every year, the news runs stories about how heating costs are going up "74% over last year." Do they really go up that much, or is this just more fear mongering?

Back to topic :) . Does Sirius actually produce any Talk programming currently, or is it all from other sources? The XM talk channels on DirecTV are all "in house".

I would assume Sirius wants to put Howard Stern's channels on DISH, since DirecTV is going to carry High Voltage 202. (Opie & Anthony + Ron & Fez + possible new weekend shows)

Putting Stern on Dish would be a STUPID MOVE by Sirius, unless they made the stern channels a seperate premium service.

Why would anyone want to pay $12.95 a month to Sirius to listen to Stern when they could get it for FREE via Dish Network.

I don't think we will be seeing FREE STERN on Dish Network.

I would'nt listen to Howard Stern if it were offered for free. Can't stand the guy! :smug

opinions on stern are totally beyond the point here...

There's a lot more to the talk channels than Stern and Opie & Anthony. Sirius has Martha Stewart (would be good for the wives, though without video i'm not so sure).

Things like the gay channel, maxim, Radio Korea, etc...

wouldnt that be a reason to cancel Dish? To afford to pay for gas :D
If i am not mistaken, they showed something (maybe that was those ads, or posters, etc) where it was a comparison per City.. of how much people can save with DISH Network per year over Local Cable.. ( Like Minniapolis i think it was 480 or something per year.. Nashville or something like that 300 something ) , etc....

And that maybe .. MAYBE (not sure) .. how they ment THEY can help people save to afford to pay for gas :D

Eh Scott? .. Do you recall something like that?
( I don't feel like looking for it now.. gotto go to work soon again )

I had to look it up  ... found it in a tape

Yup.. "Ease your pain at the pump" , "Does your TV Suck?", etc.. - now the Ads for those show price comparison between DISH and Local Cable...

440 per year saving in Minniapolis, 380 in Nashville.. etc...

Jim even said.. "Maybe next we ll do something on the Heating Costs" (now that the Winter is coming) .. hehe :)

Another words.. - any way you look at it.. - If your TV Sucks - Now we can show you how (via Charts and Graphics)..

and if you are "blue" at the pump.. or via heating your house, etc - Come to DISH! .. Save money over your local Cable! .. and use the Savings to "Ease Your Pain" somewhat :D

Just found out by my friend who gave me the showroom receiver that he got a call from Dish on Friday telling him all Dish 6000's were going to be taken off of the showroom accounts next month.

Hope he can activate another recevier for me (it would be even cooler if he can get me a DVR) :D

I just wish Dish would activate my receivers for it so I dont need to jump through these hoops.

A new guide telling you how to setup descrete codes on universal remotes, we will post this to SatelliteGuys later today.

Scott,

Did you post this yet ? I'm not sure where to look for it .

I just checked the retailer site again and this one is the only one I can find about remotes, so this might be it.

.. and hope he doesn't get a phonecall from them to do the Receivers location test / check :) (.. doubt the Retailer would be put through this test though)

Can't you become something like a "retailer", Scott somehow? (.. with all your connections, status, this forum, etc....) :)
