LIVE FUTBOL: Barcelona vs. Valencia 12/18 @ 3:58 PM EST

Amaaaa-zing first half. It's true Barca was attacking like crazy and Valencia couldn't manage anything offensively, BUT... Valencia was defending VERY well. Unfortunately, if they defend much harder, they are going to concede red cards and/or Penalty kicks if things continue that way in the second half. That play at the end of the first half could VERY well have been a penalty, I agree with Sid that Eto'o doesn't dive and that very likely there WAS a foul in the penalty area. The referee was caught up with the former call and was well out of position to make the call. Still, if Valencia brings in Rufete, Aimar, and Mista in the second half, who knows...? I think to continue defending like the first half will fail in keeping Barca from scoring. They're just too strong offensively... On the other hand, Canizares is an AWESOME goalie and if anyone can shutout Barca, it would be him. He's hilarious tonight. Yes, this is a LIVE game, though very late in Europe...

It's at half time and the referee still has not taken charge of the match. He should have sent off Navarro for that foul on Ronaldinho. Sid just said 15 years. Nice fur coat on the blond.

The replay of Eto'o being pulled by Marchena is the exact same foul that was given a penalty last year by another referee in Valencia-Real Madrid where the same Marchena pulled Raul in the 90th minute and saved Real Madrid 1-1 with Valencia

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Red card! this should help Valencia!

As much as Barca has dominated the game in the offense it is Valencia defense that has made it possible for them to be up by a goal.

To recap: Barca has been in control the entire game except for two moments. The Valencia goal and Valdes making a horrible clearance into the defender resulting in a handball outside the box, and his being sent off with a red.... Now a penalty in the box for Barca 1-1 GOAL!
