Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network off Dish due to contract dispute

Lifetime should walk away and tell Charlie to kiss off. Never to talk again. The masses of women pissed about this will teach Charlie a lesson in the long run when they switch to another provider. (Ex. cable)

DirecTV as the exclusive DBS home of Lifetime could be a very profitible arrangement for both companies. They could have a "Woman's Choice" package with exclusive programming...

the thing that's funny is how Dish now has registered a dedicated domain for this dispute and future disputes to come and keep updating it with comments and letters from charlie.

does this include his status at the mental hospital ??? :D

Dish must be getting a lot of calls on this. Their phone tree is now preceded by a message to 'Press 1 if you are calling about a missing Lifetime channel.'

And once I worked my way into being queued for a CSR, to ask about something else, I'm getting a 12 minute wait. This is at 10:40 EST, when the wait is usually 1-2 minutes.

Charlie has a new page up on his reusuable programmer dispute domain fairsatellite.com. On http://www.fairsatellite.com/index3.shtml he's showcased the 5 posts on Lifetime's message boards that are on his side. This dispute is getting downright silly.

I have looked at the Lifetime message board. About 1/2 of the posts there are bashing Lifetime.

This is a big mine is bigger then your contest.
And Charlie is going to win.

Same thing....

I received the same email as above from Lifetime. I turned right around and replied to an email I had gotten from Dish and told them I thought they were lying about the situation. I also told them that it does no good for me to get ELove on Lifetime because I subscribe to everything, so get it anyway on my movie packages!! I also pointed out to them that since I do subscribe to everything that I am getting screwed by seeing ELove twice, let alone losing OLN and Reality AND now Lifetime and LMN. I asked what they were going to do for me? I pay the most, so lose the most? I told them that as soon as my prepaid year is up I am going to Direct TV. At least that way I can get the DVR, multiple rooms, etc., etc., all for free!!!!

If it says to press 1 for Lifetime info then you know they got to be getting a lot of calls regarding this. I know charlie will keep Lifetime off until he gets his way.

It says to 'press 1' if you are calling about Lifetime, and then 'press 2' for EVERYTHING else. If you hit 2, then you go to where it used to start.

So calls about Lifetime must be consuming the CSRs.

So if you want to get anything besides a recording you have to press 2.

At least Dishnetwork is not giving out the home number of Lifetime Execs like they did with Viacom.

If you want to speak to someone, you start by pressing 2, then you work your way through a couple more options, then you get put on hold for 12 minutes.

At least that's how it went for me tonight.

I don't think charlie is budging on this, I guess mrs. ergen isn't a big lifetime fan. Even though i'm sure charlie has E*, D* and cable in his personal house, she would have heard of this by now and chimed in wih...WAAAAAAAAAAAa, f**k...spider just ran across my desk I HATE THAT!!! Grown ass man but that little spider scared the hell out of me...he has to die, get back here...

Ahem, anyways... They (Echostar) didn't register fairsatellite.com for this issue, it's almost 2 years old...They just finally found a use for it...

The more press this gets, the better for the public. Dish has offered to release whatever confidential terms of the agreement - Lifetime has refused to do so. That tells you all you need to know.

We all know the situation - Lifetime will claim that the rate increase isn't that severe because they will only factor in the price of Lifetime and LMC - ignoring any requirement of carriage of a new channel, or forced expanded carriage of a third channel.

The public needs to see these tactics for what they are. Forcing carriage of a channel that is not wanted by holding another popular channel hostage - is a price increase that can be attributed to that popular channel.

You're either on Charlie's side, or you are fighting for the right to pay for the Real Women channel for the next 5 or 6 years. If Lifetime and LMC are caught up in the dispute, that's Lifetime's fault, not E*'s.

Your right! That tells me all I need to know about Chucks negotiation methods. That's an old "red herring" move that no one falls for!

New to Dishnetwork and have a question...
