I'm leaving Comcast for E* TurboHD silver. I prefer no commitment in case Fios is (finally) run into my town and I want to take advantage of it. Is there an advantage to wait until the new February deals or should I go ahead and schedule now? Thanks.

What's coming in February (for new customers) ? All I'm aware of is the promise of add'l HD channels. Everyone will get those though. It doesn't depend on when you've signed up.

Also, current customers will, finally, be able to change their subscription to any of the Turbo HD packages and save some moey. It seems there will be quite a few on this board who will be doing just that. I would love to do it, as well, but the family has just a few SD channels that they MUST have. Maybe they will go HD in later in the year.

Fios is slow to expand, anyway. After you hear they're coming to your neighborhood, it'll likely be almost another year before they actually start installing in the houses. Seems to be about the timeline they're following in my neighborhood.

So a 2 year commitment won't be of much concern. Besides, after you're familiar with the ViP series of DVRs, you likely won't want to put up with the clunky Fios DVR.

Am I considered a new customer?
