From the Tech Portal, FWIW:

2/20/2007: 1003 Software Version L4.49 for ViP 622 DVR
Effective Thursday, February 21st, Engineering plans to spool a PARTIAL PHASE of software version L4.49 for the ViP 622 DVR receiver. This is primarily a non-forced maintenance release available at ALL satellite locations.

At this time L4.48 and L4.49 will be the valid software versions for the ViP 622 DVR.

There are also some updates for 811, 5**, 211/411, and 381, as I recall.

Brad

Yup I reported on this on Monday in the Pub Members forum.

Here is the initial software release notes for this build as I posted them on Monday.

ViP622, L449, 100K Partial, 12AM, Content Management, LO Drift 1.2, Auto Check switch, Future Sat Support, New favorites selection, misc.

I wonder if the "New favorites selection" is a new user favorites list, an "All New" (useless) default list, or something else?

Folders already exist, but not custom folders. Just same show folders.

Also, I hope the Seagate external hard drive time-out issue is addressed.

I have a VIP722 and I got L449 last night. I don't see any difference. What am I susposed to look for and I will check. I don't see any folder option on my external hard drive or in house drive. Folders are there, but I don't see any way to manage them.

I use component cables and in HDTV Setup, I have the type set to 1080i and 16x9. I checked a HD recording and a live show on 9420 and both in Normal mode show a 16x9 picture. Exactly what and why are you asking.

You can have a show in 480p resolution and 16:9 ratio and in many cases not be able to tell the difference in a 1080i show in 16:9 ratio.

There was talk awhile back, that the component output will be crippled to put out 480p or 480i only in the near future. Just wondering if that what "Content Management" was about..

Neither my 722 or my 622 received the update Wed. night (Thurs. morning). Didn't check it this morning before I left for work. Any idea when this will be fully released?
