Hey guys - I am just learning about FTA so please bear w me. I am interested in getting two sets of channels that happen to be on the Intelsat 805 (at 55W) and NSS806 (at 40.5W) satellites. On the Lyngsat website the "encryption" information for some of the channels in which I am interested is listed as "DVB" while others show "DVB PowerVu". Does this mean that they are not FTA but are rather encrypted? Also - if both are FTA, I am wondering if I'd be better off buying, say, a 30" dish (Winegard, for example) with some type of motorized mount to cover both of these satellites or two separate fixed dishes connected to a single output via a switch. Finally, being in Ohio (Cincinnati) do I stand a chance to get channels on these two satellites?

Any help will be appreciated. Also, any specific reco on a whole system/package (dish, receiver, LNBF - linear Ku I suppose) to accomplish the above so that I don't have to mess with piecing together the different components?

Thanks in advance. This FTA stuff sounds really awesome.

I805 and NSS 806 are Cband. You'll need a larger dish, 6 to 10 feet. The larger the better.

The channels that say powervu are encrypted and are not available.:( The ones that say DVB are.:)

As photoman76 said they are both C-band satellites, so you should use a 8.5' dish. NNS806 (40.5) is a circular bird and Intelsat 805 (55.0) is a linear bird, so 2 dishes might be better for easier satellite switching.
