Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

I could grab this very easy. I'll be there this weekend. Anyone have an idea what it is and what it's used for?
I'm 99% sure its a Prodelin/GD Satcom Hughes Earth Station. Very similar to the 1.8m round types just with a less obtrusive looking dish. Its a TX/RX dish so quaranteed ku compatible due to the dish having to have TX certification. Possibly ka-band certified but I doubt it.

Since it was on a gas station I'd say it was used for point of sale credit card transactions. Very similar to the Edward Jones dishes. Also if you look carefully it comes with the heater de-icing option for the dish and feedhorn. (the white backplate on the dish and the black tape around the feedhorn opening).

I'd jump all over getting this dish. Just make sure you use the feedhorn that's on it now so you illuminate the dish 100%.

Can an offset Rx lnb get both polarities?

Nope. Single polarity only.

Thanks! I'm grabbing it tomorrow, if the thieves don't beat me.

You guessing performance on par with a 1.2 or 1.6m dish?

Good luck in the rescue :) If I had to guess I'd say more like the 1.2m. Maybe more knowledgeable folks can chime in.
Had a recon squad do a driveby and they sent these...

Pretty good sized compared to the car in the background.

I haven't found anything on the 'net for this dish, but the NPRM is listed @ $245. So that's a plus, if I can find a use for it!

So this is listed now as FREE. primestar31 do you need another dish or AJAK?

Much as I'd hate to see an Ajak get scrapped, I don't need another one or any more dishes at present. We moved to a different house a few months back, and I'll have to re-do my dishes. No time at present, because we are rehabbing both houses, and getting the old one ready and listed for sale. Also, I am most likely about to lose my job within 60 days or so due to a big mid-Michigan company takeover by one of the original parent companies. It doesn't look good for any I.T. people... Personally, I think it's going to be a slaughter, and the numbers reported in the news are being understated by probably 1/2, since they aren't counting contractor job losses. But those are local job losses nonetheless.

I have seen the same, or very similar dishes on roofs of area Caseys convenience stores, always wanted one just for the looks if nothing else, hope you get it.

My understanding is the performance will be limited to the height of the reflector which I estimate to be 80 or 90 cm, and the width will help with adjacent satellite rejection, but that may not be correct.
