I'm 99% sure its a Prodelin/GD Satcom Hughes Earth Station. Very similar to the 1.8m round types just with a less obtrusive looking dish. Its a TX/RX dish so quaranteed ku compatible due to the dish having to have TX certification. Possibly ka-band certified but I doubt it.I could grab this very easy. I'll be there this weekend. Anyone have an idea what it is and what it's used for?
Since it was on a gas station I'd say it was used for point of sale credit card transactions. Very similar to the Edward Jones dishes. Also if you look carefully it comes with the heater de-icing option for the dish and feedhorn. (the white backplate on the dish and the black tape around the feedhorn opening).
I'd jump all over getting this dish. Just make sure you use the feedhorn that's on it now so you illuminate the dish 100%.
