I have MRV (all white DECA) and can do VOD, PPV, YouTube, and Pandora. My setup connects to my Router via a Switch by means of a white DECA box. I was installed in 2010. Is the CCK just a fancy DECA module?

Yes. The Cinema Connection Kit is also known as a DECA BB, which not only adapts your internet signal from your router to travel over the coaxial to the receiver, but also bridges that signal to all of the other receivers in your MRV setup. The HR34 has this hardware built-in. Other receivers will disable MRV if you plug an ethernet cable into them.

Brings up another question. If I add an HR34, do I remove the DECA box (or CCK) used to connect to the Internet and instead use an Ethernet port on the HR34 to provide that function.

I didnt simply because of the distance from my router to my HR34.. woulda been a long run of Ethernet cable, and I'm lazy when given the opportunity

Right - the HR34 has a CCK built-in but not a CCK-W which is the wireless version. If your only option to connect to your router is via wifi, then you need the CCK-W no matter what receiver you have.

Okay and thanks all. I have an Ethernet switch in my A/V cabinet for my BD, Roku, and HTPC with my HR24 which I will try to replace with an HR34. The HR24 will replace my HR20. Now I just have to see if D* will let me do the swap. I guess I can always pay the premium at SolidSignal.
