It's Here!!!

I ordered this receiver last Wednesday (May 9th) at noon and it arrived today (May 14th) direct from Hong Kong, China. Now that's what I call fast service!

It even arrived double wrapped for added protection. Now the testing begins.

I bought an openbox s10.....biggest pos i ever purchased.

Like I asked before, and others have asked what firmware did you have, and how did you have it set up? Did you try other firmwares?

Ask all the questions you want. After what I've read here and elsewhere about these openbox units, they're troublesome, and require too much attention just to make them function somewhat correctly. I think truckracer's description is right on the money!

It's interesting that those with the strongest opinions against Openbox are those who seem to have the least experience with Openbox. Keep in mind that I bought a used Openbox S9 for $50. For the features offered, I'd say there are few (any?) currently available boxes that can compete with that considering features offered. When the new microHD becomes available, this will likely change.

Added: You've dyed your hair!

The S9 is a totally different animal than the S10,12,13,14,29,666 models

As an owner of the Sathawk (the original that Sadoun had), the Solomend and a S9 along with an S10 the S9 versions (Solomend and Sathawk) worked great once they got the bugs worked out. The S10 I had some issues and only had it for a little bit. The small size I think is part of the reason. No where for it to breathe

I always read up on anything before purchasing, and the cons just outweigh the pros on these to me.

Meaningless comment. Like saying you bought a red car and hated it. What firmware did you use? What was wrong with it? What did you expect it to do that it didn't?
If I may add. After the retailer fixed the issue with my S10 and loaded their modified version of the December 2011, firmware the unit has been without any issues worth mentioning. I have no video freeze and it records and plays back all recording except for 4:2:2 feeds which records, but can't play back.

Do you own an Openbox receiver to make such a statement?

Isn't the Openbox a clone of the Skybox? If so, how do we know that they Skybox won't work better than the Openbox if nobody actually tests one? This is why I did to report the results for those who are interested in finding out.

As I said earlier. I'm going by what I've read, and there seems to be more complaints than compliments on these. Even if it's cheap I don't want to buy trouble.
