I'm about to order Dish online at dish.com and was wondering if when you specify that you want a joey receiver will the installer have the joey 3, or are they still installing joey 2's?

Seems like the inventory of Joey 2's has been getting smaller and smaller and I see a lot of internals complaining about not having any. Wde just got a resupply here in Ohio and only 1 case of Joey 2's showed up, so here's my question. Why run out the inventory of Joey 2's but keep using Joey 1's which are junk now? We're told that as of 8/23 the work orders will say to use Joey 1's for Hopper 1 and Hopper 2 and Joey 3's for Hopper 3 and Hopper Duo. I'm guessing this is because of what's in their inventory.
Call your local retailer and order to get what you want.

I would call my local retailer if I had one locally that was any good. Would it be safer to just order a Joey 4K since I don't think there is a way to specify a Joey 3 when ordering online? I'm primarily interested in the speed of the receiver since I don't have a 4K TV yet, although I hope to soon. I haven't even carried Joey 1's in over a year. I just refuse to install a piece of junk if I don't have toWe don’t carry Joey2s anymore in my office/state. If the work order calls for a Joey 1 or 2 , I usually modify it for a Joey3 because I’m too lazy to wait for the Joey 1 to fire up.
As said above, Joey 1 is for Hopper2K and Sling. And Hopper 3 and Duos get Joey 3s most the time.
But it costs no more and is easy to sub it for a 3 , assuming your tech stocked up that morning and has enough on his van for the day.
They work with Hopper Duo, so I would imagine that they would also work with HWS.would 4k joey work with HWS or do they only function properly with H3?

Actually, no. I had to look it upEven the H-2000???
I have been having an issue with my Joey 2 freezing up on my 4K HD TV. Should I have a Joey 3 for just this TV or Joey 3's for all of my HD TVs. I have a Hopper 3. I have never had an issue until I got my 4K TV, and I got the 4K TV either January/February of this year. There's no rhyme or reason as to why or how they setup work orders when it comes to Joeys. 2 jobs in the same neighborhood could have Joey 2's on 1 job and 3's on the other. I would specify that you want Joey 3's.
The TV has noting to do with it. Does it give any error message or just freeze? Could be a Moca issue, cabling or in the Hopper. It only happens with the Joey connected to the 4K TV. If it would happen on my other HD TVs that also have Joey's connected to them, I would hear about it from my wife/daughter. The HD TV that has the Hopper 3 has never had any issues. That is the frustrating part of all of this. I have reported it to Dish, and the agent told me that she will report my issue to the Engineers. Others have reported it also, but I have never really noticed it happening to me until I got the 4K TV. I am trying to figure out when it started doing this. If you swap Joeys (move the Joey with the problem to another TV, and put the Joey from that TV on the 4K TV instead) and the problem stays with the 4K TV, then it is some kind of compatibility issue between the Joey and your TV. If the problem stays with the Joey, causing problems on the other TV, then it is a bad Joey. (Or, as HipKat said, it could be a problem with the cabling to that room, causing the problem with the 4K TV.)It only happens with the Joey connected to the 4K TV.
