ITVN has charged my credit card twice

I too got double-charged two months in a row. I found out from my credit card company that even if I cancel my card and get a new card, this preauthorized payment will follow me and there is no way to cancel preauthorization except through a request from the merchant.. O_O what to do..
I filed a BBB complaint of course. I'm not looking forward to having to file a dispute every month on my credit card bill.. for how long??

When you get a new card it should have a different account number and the old account number should be closed out. Since ITVN has the old number any charges should be denied. Any automatic payments you want to go through must be updated with the new number. That's the way it has always worked for me anyway.

According to my credit card company, Citibank MasterCard, even if I close my account, get a new card with new number, or whatever else, and the charges will follow me until the MERCHANT calls and cancels the preauthorization arrangement. And here is what the US Treasury Dept says on this topic. I wish I'd never heard of ITVN.

Pre-Authorized Payment and Charges Answers from the OCC
I closed my credit card account, but the bank continued to accept preauthorized withdrawals (such as charges from my insurance company). Why won’t the bank stop accepting these charges?

Generally, your Account Agreement advises that you must cancel all pre-authorized withdrawal agreements with merchants prior to closing an account.
The bank does not cancel these for a simple reason: the pre-authorized withdrawal agreement was made between the consumer and the party making the withdrawals. Since the bank is not a party to the agreement, it cannot cancel it. Therefore, the withdrawals can be charged to the account even after the consumer has closed it.

I noticed today ITVN.com and XTV.com's websites are gone and they just say under construction. Hopefully they will stop charging if they are shutting everything down.

I'm sure most of us have long since contacted our banks to dispute charges, so this information may be of little or no use. I'll post it anyway. Even though Charles Prast probably won't respond anyway, there's a chance he'll see your disgruntled email if you send it to the address listed on the SEC filing: itvncontact@gmail.com

This ITVN number (949-456-9510) may still be active, though I doubt anyone answers it.

Either way, a harshly worded email made me feel better. I don't give a crap if he's $10 million in the hole. Fraud is fraud. And that pisses me off.

Same experience here - double charged even after sending 2 emails to cancel service at the end of February because they were losing Setanta Sports. I reported them to the BBB of Southern California and was told there are 13 other unanswered complaints filed against them. The BBB agent gave me the number for the Attorney General who I plan to call just at least to put these scammers on their radar. My credit card company at least reversed the two charges and has assured me that any future charges will be credited back. Now what do I do with this useless receiver??

Well, I have a 1 yr sub.

As of today, the box still works!! Porn only

I'll let you know for how long

BTW, my bank, Bank Of America said you can stop a recurring charge by blocking the EXACT AMOUNT, not by company.
So if you say to NOT accept any $39.95 charges, they won't, from anyone, ever

Lets get the FBI involved

I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau but it looks like they already have 24 unanswered complaints. This looks like a case of fraud to me at this point. It really isn't lawful to close your business but keep the credit card info and continue charging (double for that matter). I saw how many problems everyone is having preventing this charges from being made. I can't believe how difficult it is. It seems that the banks try and protect the company making the charges more than their customer. This is really a case of the law needing to be changed to protect the consumer and prevent a charge from any source that the account holder proves is making fraudulent charges.
Anyhow, I opened up a complaint with the FBI to see if we can get a quick resolution to this before whoever is billing the credit cards makes it out of the country with our cash in hand. It is my suggestion everyone here do the same.

The banks that issue credit cards receive a fee for each transaction. Contrary to what many people think banks do NOT exist to service their customers, they exist to make a profit, and they will resist any changes to their status quo.

Looks like my card processor refunded the duplicate charge for March.

No more charges seem to be coming thru, at least not on my card.

How long you figure we should hold on to the boxes before we toss them? I assume there will never be another use for them.
