ITV Weather

I am wondering if we need the phoneline to get this information or if we just need a satellite connection to get it (which would be my guess).

Also if a storm comes and it knocks out the signal would be be able to see the last information that was brought in for the radar, watches, warnings, forecast, etc (is it stored on the receiver) or do you have to access that information when you have a satellite signal? If you press rewind when the signal was coming in do you get the current weather information or do you get weather information from the an hour ago if you rewound it an hour? My guess is you get the current/last information received.

Come on Dish, get this software out. I got customers looking forward to this.

i wonder if we should be asking ourself's if they have to wait for their contract to be up with accuweather before they can add this feature? any thoughts?

No it was supposed to be activated last week, however some receivers didn't get a software update which was needed to make it work. These updates should be going out tommorow.

New Weather Features

This is going to be great for me. I do not have any way of getting local weather or radar and this will allow me to have this.

No word on the release date, I was just sent some documents and the only ITV stuff going up this weekends are a new Casino Game in the Playin TV area.

I talked to the ITV Wildman Scott Higgings not to long ago. And he said it would be around February when the games and karaoke feature would be available to some of the higher end boxes (ie 942 / 622)

Interesting.I didn't know they was getting karaoke.Will that be a free service or will you have to pay like you do with the games?

It will be pay, Karaoke is available now on other Dish Network Interactive Receviers.

Has anyone else notice the weather channel is freezing up?It's been doing it on since 3 am where I live and I called my father and he is having the same problem which leads me to believe it's a problem with the channel.I checked the signal level in the systems menu and I'm in the 120s on both 110 and 119 so my signal is excellent.Also I have no trees no where near my satellite dish.

It has nothing to do with the ITV service, as the ITV service has been up in running in tests for quite awhile now.

Last week on channel 100, the Dish Network crawl (or ticker) said that this feature would be coming in late September. Now that September has come and gone, I noticed this morning that it said that it "would be coming soon". So obviously there is a significant delay that will last who knows how long.

i agree, i hope so to, but i'm not going to hold my breath knowing how slow dish
is to get things up and running.
